Dear Friends,

Families caught on both sides of the armed conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan about the Nagorno-Karabakh region desperately need your help.

Hundreds of Christian families have fled Stepanakert - the main city in this mountainous region and have arrived in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. Many Azeri families also have fled their homes seeking safety in places away from the war zone.

We are launching this urgent appeal to enable our DPM workers to minister to the affected families in their care and to help them in practical ways.

Our DPM workers and volunteers in both of these countries are working hard to help displaced families by offering shelter in their churches and homes.

They are providing food, pastoral care and prayer for those who are in shock or have lost loved ones in this conflict.

This is what Vazgen Arseni, our DPM Outreach worker and pastor of Abovyan City Church  in Armenia told us:

From the very first day of the war, my church in Yerevan opened its hospitable doors to all refugees. We were able to host over 100 refugees under our church's roof, and more than 2000 in our city.

Recently, our church building was attacked by a drone, but thank God no one was hurt.

Armenia is facing a humanitarian catastrophe. Winter is coming, and we need to provide warm shelter and food for these refugees. As well as education for the children and pastoral care. Many of them have already had their houses destroyed in Artsakh (the Armenian term for Nagorno-Karabakh).

And, Imad, one of our DPM workers in Azerbaijan also shared about the suffering and the displacement of Azeri people and how he and other believers from his church are praying for and ministering to displaced families.

Will you please enable DPM workers to meet the physical and spiritual needs of those who have fled war and violence?

Your generous gift of R430 could provide hygiene kits, food, and pastoral support for a family who has fled the war zone.

And, a special gift of R110 or more could put Derek Prince's teaching on how hope and prayer can conquer fear and bring peace into the hands of a group of displaced people who are seeking spiritual comfort in God.

Children, teens, and adults who have already suffered a great deal need our help today. Please give the most generous gift you can.

And please lift the governments and the people of Armenia and Azerbaijan in your prayers.

Pray that God will touch the hearts of the leaders of these nations and compel them to seek peace with each other. Pray for a swift ending of this conflict and for God's protection over our workers and the believers who are serving those who are suffering at this time.
"May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else..." (1 Thessalonians 3:12)
